Introduction to the Active-Participatory Approach 
Length of Training – 2 hours 


OST professionals can develop and/or enhance their skills to better identify youth needs and encourage motivation and engagement. The Active-Participatory Approach to youth work was designed to address these goals. This youth-centered approach is the foundation for the Youth Work Methods Series. 


Upon successful completion of this training, the participant will earn 2 clock hours (.2 CEUs) of training.   

 

Training Objectives: 

Participants will: 

  1. Identify the four guiding principles of the approach. 
  2. Recognize best practice behaviors. 
  3. Develop plans that effectively incorporate the active-participatory approach with youth at their sites.

CEU Information

Upon successful completion of this training series and follow up assignment(s), the participant will earn 2 clock hours (.2 CEUs) of training.

 

If requesting CEUs, participants must check the box below and enter their registry ID number.

 

Participants must be Prime Time registry members in order to receive CEUs for trainings.

Participants must complete all assignments satisfactorily, attend all sessions of this training series, miss no more than 15 minutes of total training time and actively participate during training sessions to receive CEUs  for this training series.
